The Oxford Road Scout group goes from strength to the strength.
The Oxford Road Scout Group is the community scout group for the local area and is part of the Reading Central District The catchment area runs from either side of the Oxford Road between Chatham Street and the Norcot roundabout: north of the railway line.
We offer Scouting for both boys and girls from 6 to 16 years old and have recently opened 2 new sections to meet the growing demand for Scouting in our area. We now run Scouting activities 5 nights of the week catering of all our age ranges. We meet at our Oxford Road Scout Headquarters.
Both indoor and outdoor events run at the weekly section meeting and extra events run at weekends and during the school holidays – whether it be walks, camps, outings, community activities, fundraising or just out having organised fun!

Oxford Road Scout Group Neckerchief
The Oxford Road Scout Group Neckerchief colours have been chosen to represent both the county and the town. The imperial crimson/purple is a colour associated with royalty and represents the Royal County of Berkshire. The doubled blue border represents the two rivers, Thames and Kennet, which brought wealth to Reading during the 18th and 19th Century.
