We have 2 beaver groups (colonies) both meeting in the 103rd Oxford Road Scout Group Headquarters. One colony meets on a Friday’s and the other one on Monday’s from 6:00pm to 7:30pm (during term time). The colonies consists of four lodges – Red, Green, Yellow and Blue.
we currently have a waiting list for Both of the beavers section, due to the Monday session being Full and has a long waiting list, we have closed the list for a short period. we only have spaces available for our Friday night Beavers sections for the time being. will update when spaces are available for the Monday Night Sessions.

Beaver Scouts are young people usually aged between 6 and 8 years old. Young people can join Beavers within the three months leading up to their 6th birthday. They can move up to the next section, Cubs at the age of 8 years. Easily recognised by their distintive turquoise sweatshirts. Beavers enjoy making friends, playing games, going on visting, helping others and camping over night.
Beavers began in 1982 who are the youngest section within the Scouting family, at the start of Scouting only boys could be in Beavers. But from 1991 girls were allowed to join Beavers. They “swim-up” to Cubs when they are eight. Beavers activities aim towards having fun and making friends and exciting mix of adventure and achievement which the Beavers will enjoy whilst in the Colony. Whilst being in the Beaver colony there are many opportunities to gain awards and badges, which are given in recognition of the effort by which each child at their own level of development and understanding.
The Beaver colony only does a few activities because of the age of it’s members. The main activities which are done include:
– Making new friends
– Having fun
– Indoor/outdoor games
– Learning about sharing and friendship
